This is a great pattern with a wonderful sawtooth border set with a circa 1890’s blue.
The Variable Stars quilt is an authentic crib quilt and we love to see original pieced crib sized quilts. The stars have a solid red diamond and the rest of the quilt block has various shirting fabrics.
Highly collectible and this one is in such nice condition. No real issues to note really.
I gave this one a recent wash and air dried No issues to note, some possible minor age spots but nothing that stands out.
Note in the border the one solid red piece in the design.
Circa 1900’s and earlier fabrics used in making this . Many shirting fabrics and indigos were used.
