This eye catching early Southern Pickle Dish or often called an Indian Wedding Ring quilt is so spectacular in design and colors / fabrics.
This is an east Texas quilt.
A circa 1880’s hand quilted beauty that speaks of a time period so long ago.
The quilting is done in close lines with the quilt maker leaving no large spaces of unquilted areas.
The backing is a homespun like fabric.
This quilt was taken care of through the years, as it is in overall excellent condition. Has a couple minor mend stitch ups.
The ground fabrics is a deep early shade of deep blue/green that almost looks black. The intersections of the rings the maker used a scrap bag of fabrics in some.
