This is one wonderful antique quilt with fabrics of a rich indigo fabric and finished off with the beautifully framed sawtooth border and then the indigo binding.
The superb hand quilting shows off the handwork of the maker and also love seeing the double rod quilting on the border. In between the blocks is a detailed wreath of hand quilting designs.
The condition is excellent on this circa 1880’s quilt, though some of the blue appears to be earlier. I noted an old repair in the ground area which doesn't take away from the quilts beauty or quality.
I’ve given this textile a gentle wash and it’s ready to enjoy.
The dimensions are a nice 78x78 inches and it’s photographed on a queen bed for reference.
