A charming western themed quilt with images of a cowboy and cowgirl on their horses along with other applique of images of the time.
This one has the cactus, the tipi and Native American girl, a calf, a barking dog it appears and more.
This hand quilted and hand appliqué quilt is a kit quilt.
A pattern and the “kit” that was marketed by the Progress Company. Making one of these quilts took lots of skill as even though the fabric pieces and embroidery thread along with the ground fabric were included in the kit, the maker had to cut out and appliqué all the pieces to the correct place and do all the handwork, appliqué, embroidery and add the binding.
This one has also been gently washed and is in excellent condition and actually looks like it was unused and just stored .
