This quilt of indigo and cadet blues is one to enjoy.
A design of simplicity of patchwork blocks made so long ago.
The pattern though appears to be 9 block with the 4 patch blocks, when viewing overall looks like a strippie chain like pattern.
The maker did some fine hand quilting designs that perks up the ground areas of the quilt. Note the intricate double line hand quilting and quilting design in the ground blocks.
A circa 1880’s quilt in great condition overall, one that has had a recent bath to freshen it and after the gentle wash a few residual age spots remain, which may be water marks, though now it is a clean quilt.

Overall the beauty of the quilt and design lets one overlook the age patina as some natural binding wear in spots is present ,, but overall a true antique quilt.
