This is super sweet Pickle Dish quilt , similar to the popular Double Wedding Ring design, only this has the great spiky triangles in the arcs giving it so much appeal and design element.
This is a circa 1930’s quilt. It’s had a gentle wash and was air dried so is fresh and ready to enjoy.
One of the characteristics of this cuddly quilt is that is has old machine quilting, possibly a treadle machine was used. The maker may have wanted to show that they had a machine as the hand piecework on this is incredible. The machine quilting work was well done.
The pattern is framed by a nice soft yellow border.
There are a few minor rubs, few loose seams, few residual age/wear spots , but nothing to take away from its character of being almost 100 years old. Enjoy all the images.
