Outstanding appliqué quilt, The Iris Garden quilt.
All hand quilted and fresh and ready to enjoy.
This appliqué quilt was a “kit” quilt from circa 1950’s and all hand appliqué and quilted.
The design has multicolor blossoms in the center and then a smaller group in each corner with additional hand appliqué.
This kit is a Progress Company quilt.
The edges are scalloped with round corners. It is then bound with separate fabric included in the kit. The original kit included fine quality cotton sheeting that was stamped so the maker could appliqué all the fabrics on the design.
The hand quilting shows the curved feathers framing the central design and straight lines and feathered motifs on the border.
No wear at all or issues really,, a couple minor residual age spots remained after the first wash it had.
It appears like it was just stored and unused.
The dimensions are 76x88 inches. Shown on a queen bed and displays wonderfully and so usable.
