This offering is for a great western vintage quilt, called Ride ‘em Cowboy. Another classic from my western quilt collection.
This cowboy and cowgirl quilt has so much details in the design and appliqué.
The condition of this charmer is excellent. The colors are bright and the quilt looks unused. It’s has a wash.
Some of the details of hand appliqué include the Native American, horses, calf, dog, cactus, Native pots, tipis, campfire, the fence rail, the logo, mountains, clouds and more.
All hand quilted.
This circa 1950’s quilt came out as a pattern with the fabric and instructions as a kit offered by Progress in the 1950’s and one of the images shows the selvedge edge where the original print design and pattern number is still visible.
This was not an easy feat cutting out all the pieces and appliquéing them using the numbers and precise detail of the handwork.
This was not for a beginner quilter I wouldn’t think.
Hand bound with red fabric.
The dimensions are 49x70 inches.
Not a big quilt, displays wonderfully.
