A beautiful shade of a cheddar orange that sings and a great quilt maker created this Star. Seeing all the extremely fine hand quilting and quilting designs is amazing.
The quilting stitches are done at 10-12 stitches per inch, so very fine.
I see a peacock, think it is, quilted in the corners and florals in the ground between the points. Just look at the close lines of hexagonal quilting in the star itself and how it ends at the center of the quilt.
This beauty had been washed at some time I imagine .
A quilt that is a standout and one for visual enjoyment or however one wishes.
A circa 1890’s quilt that is in excellent condition. No issues to note.
