This outstanding beauty of a red and green with a pop of cheddar antique quilt, a Virginia Rose appliqué, is one that the maker was so detailed in the quilt making and made this beauty so long ago.
Note the fine border wth the leaves with stuffed work berries and whimsical twigs off the vine. This border frames the appliqué blocks.
This nine block quilt displays wonderfully.
The quilt is from the circa 1860’s with fabrics of the time …
The hand quilting is detailed with feathered vines plus it also has some double rod quilting. This one is such a treasure to look at and take in its beauty.
The condition overall is excellent with some minor age toning and minor surface wear on some of the stuffed berries.
The dimensions are 88x90 inches, a generous size and is shown on a queen bed.
