This fabulous beautiful quilt ,, Butterflies and Florals framed with melon peach sashing.
The condition of this quilt is excellent and looks unused . A circa 1930’s/40’s beauty .
The hand quilting is a testament to the makers talent as is the appliqué and embroidery work. The maker added special touches of embroidery work in each of the butterflies. The butterflies even have coordinating colors in the appliqué like the solids with a charming print of like color.
Note the clamshell quilting pattern in some of the ground areas . The borders, both the inner border and outer border shows the fine highly detailed quilting design.
This beauty appears to have just been stored and was unused since its making so long ago.
This beauty was added to the Collection, Piecework of Shapes - Blocks as a great example of appliqué.
The dimensions of this masterpiece of quilt making is a generous 83x91 inches. Shown on a queen bed.
