This outstanding quilt with the most delightful patten is in excellent condition. The size of the single blocks in the 9 patch are only 31/2 inches in size.
I added this one to the collection of Piecework of Blocks-Shapes, because it used not only square of different sizes, but triangles in the construction of the blocks.
The design uses a basic 9 Patch, but then adding the little Evening Stars in 5 of the blocks is a great way to show off the scale and piecework.
Hand quilted with some double rod quilting in the white blocks .
Another great detail is the red ground using the same fabric that was used in the stars, instead of a traditional white ground. The maker had quite a bit of the fabric, so this quilt was intentional in making.
This beauty looks to have had a bath and is ready to enjoy.
You’ll love the checkered red print that may be earlier, but dating it to the circa 1910 time period.
The dimensions are 79x79 inches, so this quilt can be turned in any direction with no problem. Shown on a queen bed.
