This outstanding early appliqué, a Floral 4 block Rose/Love Apple Variation with a central design and then each of the 4 blocks is framed with a zig zag like sashing and the same zig zag is around the border of the quilt.
I love how the maker added some more appliqué design elements in the sashing and the central part of the quilt.
A stunning design and the maker looks like did their ‘own thing” when making this artistic quilt.
It has a a touch of folk artistry.
This circa 1860’s quilt is in fine condition.
