Stunning Water Lillies quilt, an applique quilt and a highly desirable Mountain Mist pattern.
This beauty is on a blue green ground framed with a brown and green border. The pattern of applique of greens, brown cattails and white Lillie’s is all hand appliquéd.
The border is quite detailed with the connecting Water Lillies.
Dated 1948 and signed Edna Meyer. So glad to see this detail and a testament to the maker leaving some history that will be passed along with the quilt. I lightened the images on the date and signature to be able to ready easier in the 4 block format.
This is from Indiana.
It is also all hand quilted. The binding was even finished in a knife edge style and hand stitched. I note some minor binding natural wear on the top edge.
This beauty has been gently washed and is ready to enjoy.
