This stunning antique quilt with the finest hand quilting and applique is one to behold. The hand quilting and all the detailed designs of the quilting are phenomenal.

I have given it a gentle first wash and it is fresh and great for any collection or one to have out and truly enjoy its detail.
The condition is excllent and one will treasure this beauty without a doubt.
The pattern called Wreath of Leaves, a small cluster of beautiful fabrics used in the Wreath of Leaves. There are 20 wreaths. The border of appliqué leaves frames the many wreaths. The backing is a solid nile green of the 1930’s.
With research found this is a Mary McElwain pattern and also the provenance that came with the quilt shows the maker lived within 12 miles of Marys Quilt Shop in Walworth, Wisconsin.The maker of this beauty lived in Spring Prairie, Wisconsin.

My understanding was that this quilt pattern was inspired from an 1830’ s quilt from Wisconsin.
Many of Mary McElwain patterns were often inspired by the Marie Webster pattens.
The dimension are a generous 78x90 inches. Some of the photos were taken outside, so appear some darker.
