Early Double X Indigo Quilt

This is a wonderful quilt with fantastic hand quilting.

The Double X pattern with a highly desirable border is one that shows off the handwork of the maker.

Triple line hand quilting often found in quilts of this age.

More quilting designs include the detailed feathered  wreaths. 

A circa 1860’s quilt. I have given this beauty a gentle wash and it’s ready to be enjoyed. 

The dimensions are 84x84 inches.

Overall excellent condition with a minor loss on a tiny triangle on the very border edge as shown.

This is a masterpiece in hand work and  a true quilt artist from so long ago. 

It is shown on a queen bed and has a nice drop on the sides. The  size is one that the quilt can be turned either direction.
