Ohio Stars Signed And Dated Trapunto Quilt 1869

This outstanding antique quilt with quilting to match with excellent overall condition is so truly beautiful.

It is signed with big initials A H E B H    Mama 1869 

Another initial on another corner is a fancy A.

This Ohio Stars quilt came out of Indiana. 

Detailed with an outstanding border of trapunto designs. The trapunto is in such great condition as often it shows wear. 

Note the different quilting designs in the quilt, like the clamshells, crosshatch and close stipple like quilting, all by hand. 

Some minor binding wear on an edge is all I really noticed and some residual age toning. 

The Ohio Stars are pieced in an early madder red fabric.

I did give this textile a bath and air dried outside on grass. 

Such a great collectors quilt and one for many that appreciate the early styles and details. 

The dimensions are 78x78.
