This is a fantastic vintage quilt with so much going on. A medallion style cross-stitch with so many different patterns all over the quilt.
This pattern called Mount Vernon is quite majestic in detail.
A Bucilla kit quilt, number 2890. This is a Kit Quilt I don’t see frequently, as this is actually the first time I have had the opportunity to have this design in a quilt.
I would say this is a circa 1950’s-70’s quilt.
The central design an 8 point star filled with cross-stitched designs. On the outer part of the star in between the points is an eagle and pot of flowers.
More pots of flowers and a swag pattern surround the center star.
So Patriotic in look with the central star and eagles.
The edge shell ground and the neutral thread gives this a nice overall color that can be enjoyed in so many homes.
I gave this beauty a wash, its first wash and it’s clean and ready to be enjoyed. There is some batting shift under some of the patterns, as this has a cotton batting, but displays beautifully and shows no wear.
In addition to all the handwork the quilt is all hand quilted. Lots and lots of work went into the making of this quilt.
The dimensions are a generous 81x95 inches. Shown on a queen bed.
