This stunning visual vintage quilt, A Patchwork of Blocks, speaks in so many ways… It has color, scale, design, fabrics, it’s initialed in the center and it has fine condition.
It is initialed in the center of the quilt C S W. If we only knew who this quilt maker was that made this masterpiece of such small scale blocks.
This quilt looks unused and is unwashed.
The small blocks are only 3/4 inch or less in some blocks.
The patchwork of blocks is each framed by a sashing of cheddar blocks that intersect into a 9 patch.
There are 15 blocks in each ‘block” so to say, not counting the cheddar separating blocks.
I didn’t get around to calculating the number of blocks, but there are hundreds if not thousands.
The condition of this hand quilted beauty is excellent.
