This hexie love quilt, is a smaller pieced Grandmothers Flower Garden quilt with a great border of the hexagons with prints. This layout brings more detail to this quilt.
The print border of hexagons really frames the quilt.
The small pieced hexagons are a bit over one inch across each piece.
Not only did the maker hand quilt inside each hexagon, but it also appears hand pieced.
Solid yellow centers with a solid row of hexagons around it, then a complementing print fabric for the third row of hexagons completes each garden of flowers.
The quilt maker really selected a pretty bunch of fabrics for this creation. I noticed the center flower garden in the quilt, the maker did some fussy cutting.
This Missouri charming quilt is in excellent condition.
I gave this circa 1930’s quilt a gentle wash and it was air dried.
