This is an incredible collectors quality appliqué quilt of a four block design of folk art like Flowers or Tulips in a Pot with a most unique design and exquisite border.
This is a circa 1860’s quilt with fabrics including red, green and a yellow calico.
In addition to the four block design, the border adds appeal with a whimsical smaller pot of meandering flowers.
Not only is the quilt a beauty, but the fine hand quilting is to behold.
Note the triple line rod quilting.
The hand quilting stitches are 9 per inch.
The skilled quilt maker included hearts on vines and did a technique called reverse appliqué for the hearts in the stem of the flower.
The maker finished the quilt with a nice neat green binding.
