This is a design I’m thinking the maker created with the Feathered Stars and the cross pieces. Quite a patchwork of piecework design.
The condition of this unique quilt is excellent.
I gave it a fresh wash and it was air dried.
The quilt is hand quilted and the neat cross strips are machine appliqué.
Such a great twist to a Feathered Stars design.
Love the colors of blue and yellow. They work so well together.
Not only is the design great, but the hand quilting is fine and detailed. Feathered wreaths with feathers and pinwheels quilting on the inside of the block. Straight line quilting in the X blocks.
The center of the stars blocks has a mini pieced star like a variable star.
The central block in the quilt has a fine detailed quilting pattern.
A circa 1920/30’s quilt.
One minor light age spot is on the border as shown, and very insignificant.
The dimensions are a generous 78x8 inches, so this is a quilt that can be turned any direction. It is shown on a queen bed.
