This fantastic unique design with the Pots of Tulips in the Urn and around the edge the pot is more of an elongated design, that to me, adds some extra design in the applique.
A circa 1860/70’s quilt that won’t disappoint.
Fine fine hand quilting and wonderful quilting designs.
The design is superb, sashed with narrow strips in-between the blocks and a medallion circular design with tulip accents. Surrounding the center design is the pot of tulips and then the outer border of appliqué completes this fine making of the artistic quilt.
Overall excellent condition with some minor surface wear on the base of one of the border urns, a couple spots of minor color over-dye lift.
Colors of green, chrome yellow and red make up the appliqué designs. Note too the early double rod hand quilting.
I gave this beauty a freshening wash and air dried.
