This is one of the more rare, circa 1950’s, hard to find western themed kit quilts, called The Western.
A pictorial quilt with the cowboy and his rearing horse as he’s attempting to probably get a saddle on him.
Some of the applique and embroidery on the quilt include the saddle, a branding iron, boots, cactus, a cowboy hat and crop.
The handwork on this is quite nice as it is appliquéd and also has some embroidery. It is also hand quilted.
I have given this cotton quilt a gentle wash and it is fresh and ready a to enjoy. There are a couple age/storage spots that remain, but they don't take away from the delightful pattern of this neat quilt.
No wear is noted.
The dimensions are 34x45 inches.
A great crib or youth size and one that is easy to display or use in so many ways.
