This dynamite, early 6 Point Blazing Stars quilt with the most fabulous border will shine on any wall or bed or however one wishes to use this handsome textile.
The quilt maker really had an eye for fabric, design, and craftsmanship.
This is a circa 1850s quilt, a 6 Point Star with a multi border of diamonds. A fine example of a 19th Century quilt.
The corners include beautiful appliquéd leaves.
It is hand quilted and hand appliqué.
This is such a true fabric lovers quilt too, with so many early prints.
The fabrics include the early greens, blue, ombre, early yellow, the turkey red, and more.
There is some minor wear in one of the fabrics as shown in the images. It’s the same fabric just out from the center and I noticed a light age spot and minor age toning.
Also noting some minor popping in the turkey red fabric.
It is bound with a green print and such tiny stitches were used.
The dimensions on this quilt are 106 x 113“, another indication of the early time period.
