A chintz Octagons with an outstanding border print. The print in the blocks has a delightful paisley design. The light chocolate border print has various designs and florals. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eIt shows all the qualities of being kept as their “good“ quilt as it doesn’t appear to have been really used and is unwashed. To imagine almost 200 years ago this quilt was made at a time of no electricity and the conveniences of today. All I could find to note was a minor couple splits on the border edge.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe hand quilting is nicely done with small quilting stitches.  \u003cbr\u003eThe border exhibits  double rod quilting, 2 rows of quilting close together. Feathered wreaths with feathers and pinwheels quilting on the inside of the block. Straight line quilting in the X blocks.  \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe center of the stars blocks has a mini pieced star like a variable star.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe central block in the quilt has a fine detailed quilting pattern.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eA circa 1920\/30’s quilt. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eOne minor light age spot is on the border as shown, and very insignificant.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe dimensions  are a generous 78x8 inches, so this is a quilt that can be turned any direction. Then it was all hand quilted and finished with a red binding. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe cowgirl on the rearing horse is so classic and reminds one of the Roy Rodger’s and  Dale Evan’s era.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe condition of this western quilt is overall excellent, with a tiny age spot as shown and some of the red binding has some natural fade, some batting shift under the cowgirl.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis cotton quilt appears to have been washed and is fresh and clean. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe dimensions are 66x87 inches. The overall condition is excellent with only minor residual spots that are not significant in any way. No wear noted. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis quilt is all had quilted and love the clamshell quilting in the ground areas and the tiny hand quilting done in diamonds in the red 4 point star.
