Cindys Antique Quilts

This blue and white quilt with several blue fabrics is an autograph/signature quilt. Sometimes called friendship or presentation quilts. The names and initials are embroidered on what appears to be by each individual. It is hand quilted at 6-7 spi and quilted in the clamshell pattern and straightline patterns. The separate blue binding is hand stitched. There are a few nice repairs on the binding done with correct same age fabric. The quilt is in good condition, used some, been washed , but no real wear, with a couple small smudges,as shown. Some of the names on the quilt include Wretha R Cory, Mary B Cory, Ethel Woodward, Lena Ward, Mrs Edd C Sanford, Ollie Milmer, Mrs. Leggett, Mrs JJ Ward, Anna Donaldson, Ola Hodgins, Sunshine Brown, Amanda Ward, Lula Nixon, LuLu Cunninsham, Elsie Sanford, Mrs W. A. Lowell, etc. From Kansas. This could be a good research quilt with all the names on it and that it was acquired in Kansas may give the researcher a start.
