What a great 4 block Eagle quilt that is in mint condition. It is unused and has never been washed and doesn't need it
either. This quilt still shows the quilting lines marked with pencil. The 4 eagles and center medallion are appliqued
and the border is pieced. The binding is done by turning the front to the back and was hand stitched down. Fabrics are
all solids. Dating of this quilt is a conservative 1940's, as it was suggested that it may be more from the 1920's.
The solids make it more difficult to date. This is a strong quilt with vivid colors of red, green and cheddar on a
muslin ground and with Pennsylvania origin. I was told this was made by Verna Brittman or Brietman from Lancaster
County Pennsylvania. It is all hand quilted at 7 spi and also the applique is done by hand. An excellent collector
quilt.
