Beaver State Indian Trade Blanket Shawl - circa 1923
(Item: B-512)
This vintage wool Beaver State Indain shawl by Pendleton Woolen Mills has a very interesting smaller scale pattern in
the bands. Looking more closely one sees the crosses with diamonds and x's. Colors in the bands of green, red, cream
and browns make up the color ways of the blanket. The condition of this blanket is very good with a few unavoidable
slight moth spots not showing up on one side. Also the fringe is a little rough. The fringe is not included in the
measurements of this blanket with a size of 59x67. For reference one may see a blanket of this patttern in Barry
Friedmans book Chasing Rainbow's on page 131, upper right. A nice blanket that might be just the right one for
decorating or using. Displays well and lays flat.
