(Item: QT-460)
This quilt top is not just an ordinary 1870's-80's top. It is a very special One Patch Blocks top that is pieced on the
diagonal and many of the pieces are fussycut. By fussycutting the pieces, the maker cut out fabric of a particular
pattern and centered it in making the pattern design of the top. In this case it was flowers, bluebirds, horse head,
dog head, race horse and jockey, sailor and ship, Greek pattern, dots and more that the maker wanted to emphasize. It's
an early top too with some great conversation, novelty fabrics. It's a real pleasure to look at. The size of the quilt
top is 73x73 inches and the single blocks are only 1 1/2 inches square. The top is in excellent condition with a
handful of seams near the edge that have come undone. This is an unusual collectors top if I ever saw one and one
probably wouldn't want to quilt it, as personally, I would keep it the way it is( just my opinion), as it can be used
and enjoyed in many ways and oh what a treasure it is!
