Blue and White Double Irish Chain Quilt(q-417)-Circa 1890's, size 64x82. The condition of this quilt is excellent. Wonderful pattern, which may also be called a 25 Patch Block, is unusual to have it on a blue ground of indigo print. This pattern is more often seen on a white ground.  This patterns is also called Mrs. Hoover's Colonial Quilt as there is a similar quilt, plate 11, in The Dictionary of Quilt Names and Patterns by Yvonne Khim. There are several indigo fabrics used in the making of this quilt. Nicely hand quilted at 7-8 spi in close, straight lines and quilted in diagonal lines on the border. A very nice 2 color quilt. The replaced binding, shown, of old fabric is whipped on by hand. This quilt is clean ready to use or display . This quilt is even nicer in the "real".  From Ponca City ,Ok.
